Many new authors want to know, "Could I publish this myself? Do I really need a company?" And the truth is simple.

Yes! You could do this yourself. People do, and you could, too.

If anyone can do it, why would you work with a company to do it? This is a better question. Once you know why, you can understand your options clearly.

People work with us because there is a lot of behind-the-scenes work that isn't straight-forward and can be confusing. When you do it wrong, it can have consequences such as having your books pulled, your account suspended, your royalties forfeited, and more. It also isn't cheap to go it alone.

Can you design your own eye-catching cover?

Can you illustrate your book?

Do you know about typesetting or the rules guiding fonts? How to organize book signatures? When to use RGB or CYMK color spaces and how to create both?

How much time would these skills take you to learn and complete? If you aren't going to do these things yourself, you'd have to find people to do these things and pay

for their services.

And of course you'll need an editor or three. Trust me when I say that even the best writers NEED an editor.

These are only some of the myriad of things that a publisher can handle for you.

We also have distribution networks. We're constantly growing connections. And we can literally get you (or your books) a seat at the table at the most important book markets and fairs.

You can do it alone, sure. But why would you want to?
